Film Noir Photography Proposal

 

 

Idea

The initial idea I thought of was having a person in the middle, with two cars on either side at the bottom. I would have Dom’s face in the middle in black and white with a hood making anything above his nose black and not visible. The market square clock tower of the council house is then above that fading downwards, with a Nottingham skyline behind that at a high opacity fading out with birds flying.

 

Props

The props we will need is a hoodie, snapback, two cars, a cigarette and a city.

We will be using a hoodie to put the hood up to add shadow over Dom’s eyes and up to the top of his nose. We will also add a snapback to add more shadow and completely block the eyes out with shadow so they’re not visible to add the effect of danger and hiding in the shadows. The two cars are to add to the stereotype to those who wear hoodies and tracksuits in Nottingham. The cars have a low suspension and large engines so they suit the stereotype we are going for. The city is so we can have the council house clock tower above Dom’s head and a skyline behind that. The inspiration for this is from Grand Theft Auto.

Locations

The locations of the photos we will be taking is one picture in college film studio which will be the picture of Dom with his head down with the shadows. Then we will take two car pictures at Dom’s house and the skyline in Nottingham.

 

Models

The model will wear a hoodie which will cover their eyes and you will only see their nose to chin. The model will be Dom as he fits the best for this.

 

Camera & Lighting Settings

The lighting settings will be having two redhead lights, one over the top as a backlight and have a key light at the front as the main light. These will be the only lights used. The camera settings will be using
