asd test

  1. What time period do you think the photograph was taken? Give reasons for your answer.
  2. What message could the photograph be trying to convey?
  3. What are the unique features that make the image different from current day photograph?
  4. What problems would you face when trying to recreate this photograph.

The time period of this image I would say 1940-1950, the reason I say this is because of the clothing she is wearing, you can see a long dress with high heals and the hair style would suggest this time era. The photograph is conveying emotions of sinister and sadness. The unique features of this photograph that differ from todays photography is that of using a film camera to capture the image. This is different as it adds a grain as they need a higher ISO to get a brightness and removes that of finer detail. If I was to recreate this image a problem I would come across is that of the surrounding landscape as this image was took in a location similar to that of central London.

The time period of this image I would say 1950-1960, this is because of the sunglasses - I feel they are vintage glasses so would relate to this time period. The message in the photograph may be a fashion statement which tells us about the type of clothing they wore at that time. The unique features are the glasses as mentioned to be vintage, they look to be designer. A second unique feature is that of the blinds/shutters as if they are left on a desk in a office builder or home. The problems I would face when recreating the picture is the type of glasses as the glasses I have in mind would not be the same however similar.
